69 percent Delhiites desire to go on cruise vacation

The research conducted by Barometer clearly states that awareness and desire to cruise is at all time high, infact 69 percent of Delhiites are aware and desire to go on cruise vacation.

Travelling by trains and flights is a passé as cruise vacation is the latest “in-thing” to have the life of your time. TIRUN Travel Marketing, the exclusive India Representative for Royal Caribbean Cruises Limited in India recently concluded a 3 month long survey on cruising trends among Indians.

The research conducted by Barometer clearly states that awareness and desire to cruise is at all time high. Infact 69 percent of Delhiites are aware and desire to go on cruise vacation.

The research was conducted by Barometer Research, a leading research agency based in Mumbai.

The results of this 3-month long survey, that was a follow-up to a survey that was conducted 2 years back, bring to the fore the many findings that were gleaned from the responses of 3,700 respondents from 8 Indian cities of which 613 qualified for the interview keeping in mind that they have travelled abroad at least once for leisure purposes and belong to Sec A, A+ segment.

The research was conducted by Barometer Research, a leading research agency based in Mumbai. One of its pertinent results (Graph A) conveyed that the awareness and desire for a cruise vacation were very high in the country. In fact, in Delhi, a whopping 69 percent were aware and wanted to go on a cruise vacation.

Fast racing ahead of leisure or land-based travels, cruises were found rising in prominence as the preferred holiday option.

Nagpur was followed by Chennai with 85 percent people, Delhi with 69 percent and Kolkata with 66 percent and Bengaluru with 60 percent of respondents who expressed a desire to go on a cruise.

Other cities such as Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Chandigarh were next on the list with 42 percent, 47 percent and 29 percent city residents being well-disposed towards a voyage on the sea.
